Ballot & Barbecue Family Fun Day

Your Voice. Your Vote. Our Detroit.

Ballot & Barbecue & Family Fun Day is a community event designed to bring neighbors together for food, fellowship, family activities, and civic engagement ahead of the upcoming election. Throughout the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to learn what’s on the ballot, connect with community leaders and local organizations, and make a plan to vote—all while enjoying free barbecue, bounce houses, outdoor games, and activities for the whole family.

Hosted by MOSES in partnership with United Christian Center, this event creates a welcoming space where residents can get informed, build community, and leave prepared to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Legacy Leaders Luncheon

Honoring our elders and senior organizers who built the ground we stand on.

Your years in the movement matter more now than ever.

For decades, you organized block clubs, marched for justice, fought for fair housing, built coalitions, and showed up when it mattered. That work didn't end when you stepped back — it planted seeds MOSES is still growing today.

This August, we're gathering our legacy leaders — retired pastors, longtime organizers, civic elders, and community champions — for a luncheon to reconnect, share wisdom, and talk about the road ahead. As MOSES deepens its electoral work to protect voting rights and build power in Metro Detroit, we want your voice, your history, and your leadership at the table.

Date: Wednesday, August 19th, 2026

Time: 12:00p - 2:00p EST

Location: Sent to your email upon registration

Lunch will be provided. Come ready to reminisce, be honored, and help chart how MOSES engages elders in our electoral organizing this fall.
Seats are limited — please register to reserve your place.

Once you register, luncheon location details will be sent to your email.
