Faith Leaders Push for Equitable Regional Mass Transit

Press Release

When? Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at 11:00am

Where? The Historic Little Rock Baptist Church 9000 Woodward Ave, Detroit (Holbrook and Woodward Ave)

What? Faith Leaders and Community Leaders push for state legislature to vote to pass recently introduced Regional Transit Authority legislation, and include the proposed inclusive Regional Bus Rapid Transit System.

Who? Join MOSES, Senator Bert Johnson, Macomb County Commissioner David Flynn, Transit Riders United, The Michigan Suburbs Alliance and Trans4m Coalition Partners at 11:00am for a Press Conference in support of a Regional Transit Authority and a Comprehensive Bus Rapid Transit System in southeastern Michigan connecting Ann Arbor and DTW airport to Detroit.

Why? Southeastern Michigan has fought for over 25 years to create a Regional Transit Authority that would allow for a comprehensive mass transit system, connecting the region as it should be. Through the Michigan State Senate, Senator Bert Johnson has introduced and co-sponsored the necessary legislation to create a comprehensive public mass transportation system. MOSES, the community partners listed above and more are spreading the word and organizing to make sure it happens.
