As an interracial and cross-cultural union of interfaith-partners we commit ourselves to our community, and by doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly before God we anticipate the completion of God's command:
"Build up...prepare the way, remove every obstacle from my people's way (Isaiah 57:14)....
....and Jesus' admonition: "....in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you" (Matthew 7:12).
Then justice shall roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream" (Amos 5:24).
"And when Allah's will is done, justice will prevail..." (Qur'an 40:78).
The MOSES Clergy Caucus meets every 4th Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m., unless otherwise announced. Open to all clergy persons, this caucus is the clergy arm of the interfaith, interracial, faith-based organization called MOSES.
The monthly gathering of the MOSES Clergy Caucus affords clergy from around Southeastern Michigan an opportunity to:
- Fellowship with other clergy persons;
- Share notes and insights about ministry;
- Discuss issues related to matters of social justice;
- Review alternative ways in which faith communities might respond
to social issues that impact the quality of life in Southeastern Michigan;
- Take positions on community issues, and advocate in support of a wide variety of community concerns
While the MOSES Clergy Caucus does not engage in partisan politics, it is committed to voter education, and to supporting non-partisan initiatives that help to build strong communities and enhance the quality of life.
As co-chair-persons of the MOSES Clergy Caucus, we invite you to embrace our "Statement of Faith, Purpose and Direction," and become an active participant with us to help advance the organizing work, goals and objectives of MOSES.
Please review our calendar of upcoming events and plan to join us. We are confident that your gifts and talents can help the Clergy Caucus to make a needed and necessary contribution to the betterment of life in Southeastern Michigan.
